Action Alert - Over 300 New Troops to Support

Heads up! This is what we like an action alert. We've got over 300 new military service members in need of morale boosting support and we're looking for folks who can send cards, letters and email to them. If this is something you'd be interested in doing, read on.

[ May 7th, 2009] Some service members have provided us with their email address and mailing address, others just an email address and others only provided a mailing address so signing on to support them means that you'll support them no matter what the contact method is. We can't take special requests at this time. We want everyone to receive support so we hope you'll understand.

To sign up and support these new service members please take a moment to fill out our registration form. Please reference "300" in the "How did you learn about us" section.

eMOM members, to participate in this project please send your request to our Military Service Member Coordinator via the usual methods. Do not use the registration or contact form.

Some of the troops you'll be supporting are the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines of:

  • FOB Diamondback
  • FOB Warhorse
  • 463d MP Co
  • II MEF
  • 1st CEB RC Co
  • 1/5 H & S Co
  • USS Ramage (DDG 61)
  • USS Barry (DDG 52)

Not sure what to say to a service member? Don't worry, here are a few basic tips to get you started:

  1. Introduce yourself - Use your card or letter to tell your service member a little about you, your likes, hobbies and interests

  2. Tell your service member you appreciate their service to our country

  3. Say "Thank You" - A simple thank you goes a long way

  4. Include your contact information if you'd like a reply

Remember, keep your correspondence positive and upbeat at all times. You're email or letters don't have to be long just heartfelt.

Just learned about this great outreach in support of our troops... I'm excited to be part of it, and extend my appreciation to all who helped make it happen!
