Huge Success for eMOM's Operation Soldier Care

We're so proud to report that the Operation Solider Care project, a collaborative effort between eMail Our Military, Nancy Sutherland and Phyllis Zimbler Miller, was a huge success all due to your kindness and support for our troops.

The project officially ended August 18th and with your help we raised $3411.00 to purchase sun and skin care packages for our military service members facing the desert heat in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. We couldn't have done it without you and you are greatly appreciated.

Nancy Sutherland generously offered to match the amount we raised dollar for dollar. That doubles our donations and gives us a whopping total of $6822 in sun and skin care products to go to our troops.

As of this writing, Nancy and her team were putting the care packages together to ship to the guys and gals being supported through eMail Our Military. Nancy even made a short video for us showing some of the packages that they had already put together. You can see it here.

We can't thank you enough for really going above and beyond our humble expectations for this troop support project. Over the next few days we'll do a series of posts spotlighting all the fantastic folks who took the time to help with this project. Some folks blogged about it, others shared the information on their social networks and others took the time to pull some pretty wild and wacky stunts to keep folks motived and supporting our troops. It was great fun but we certainly couldn't have done it without all the great people who put their money where their hearts were and gave to our troops. You made it happen and you are truly great.

Big thanks to all of eMOM's Operation Soldier Care donors:

Just 2 Hours Left to Get OpSoCare Packages to our Military

This is our final night to make it happen for Operation Soldier Care, our project to send Mary Kay sun/skin care packages to our troops battling the desert heat. Our project ends tonight at midnight.

We have reached higher than we ever thought possible. As of this writing, we've raised $3,021 for the care package project and need $1,979 to reach our goal. We'd love to make it all the way. However, we can't do it alone. If you could take some time and help us spread the word we believe it will make all the difference.

Please share the link to this blog post across your social networks, feel free to copy this post and use it as a guest post on your own blog, even send an email to your friends and family letting them know about Operation Soldier Care.

Finally, we ask that if you are in a position to share a few dollars toward supporting our troops that you take a moment to do that. We can tell you from our own experiences as sons, daughters, husbands, wives and friends of our military services members - care packages are especially appreciated.

Thank You Supporters

As a way to give back to those who have given so much, we thought it would be nice to give our top 5 contributors some pretty great, generously donated items.

The list continues to grow as we near the end of the Operation Soldier Care campaign on August 18th so, if you're interested in taking home these great gifts, please give from your heart to help our troops who give so much of themselves unselfishly.

About eMail Our Military:

eMail Our Military is a charitable organization that supports U.S. military service members through morale boosting email correspondence, letters and care packages. Troop supporters can take part in a number of support projects ranging from sending eMail to a service member on a one-on-one basis to year round support projects. eMail Our Military was created in 2001 as a response to the DoD's cancellation of the "Any Service Member" and "Operation Dear Abby" mail programs. As a safe alternative, eMOM picked up where these programs left off. For more information on eMail Our Military, please visit http://www.emailourmilitary.com/

Final 3 Hours for eMOM's Operation Soldier Care

You've already heard it started with Rob La Gesse (@Kr8tr on twitter) then Todd Jordan (@Tojosan) stepped up to the plate and now, Mike Neumann (@MikeNeumann) is joining in to help us surpass our goal for Operation Soldier Care so we can get skin/sun care packages to our troops.

Yesterday, Mike Neumann officially announced that if we can meet and surpass our goal of $5,000 he'll not only shave his head, he'll do it at Hooters!

Trust me, this is something you won't want to miss.

We'd raised $2921 and were at the 58% mark when our ChipIn widget crashed. We've created a back up for the difference below. We only need $2080 to meet our goal in just 3 hours. Operation Soldier Care ends at 12 AM midnight. We're more than half way there. The hard part is over and I know we can do it with your help.

Every $1 donated counts toward the purchase of a care package and no amount is too big or too small. So, if you can help please do!

If you can't contribute financially, please consider sharing this page with someone you know, blogging about us, and sharing this information across your social networks.

Finally, don't forget you can always correspond with a service member on a one-on-one basis or send a one time message of support through eMail Our Military!

Todd R. Jordan Beardless for the Troops

Todd Jordan is a man of his word and he's shaved off the beard he's had for 13 years. Along with his friends and followers, he raised $150 for Operation Soldier Care. He promised that if people sent in the donations he'd shave it off and shave he did.

You can read Todd's side of the story, watch the video and see him clean shaven here.

Thanks Todd for all your help with Operation Soldier Care and thanks for being such a great guy.

Operation Soldier Care Bump in the Road

Just $2080 to Go!

We've raised $2921 and are at 58% technically. Then, BOOM! Our widget crashed.

No worries. We won't panic. We won't let a little widget issue slow us down with just a mere 5 hours left to get packages to the troops.

We've sent a trouble ticket to ChipIn and in the meantime, we created a new page/widget to collect the rest of the money needed to meet Operation Soldier Care's goal. You'll see the old widget on our sidebar, showing the totals and counting down the time left. Above it is the new widget that you can use to donate (or view below).

We've only got $2080 to go and just 5 hours left. Project ends tonight at MIDNIGHT!

The 11th Hour

Ok, not exactly. But, there are only 11 hours left for us to get the job done and reach 100% of our goal.

As of 12:15 PM est Operation Soldier Care is at 56% and has raised $2811.00 for sun/skin care packages to our troops in the desert.

This isn't about politics. It's about taking care of the service members who volunteered to serve our country unselfishly. That's it. Plain and simple.

Every $1 donated counts toward the purchase of a care package and no amount is too big or too small. So, if you can help please do!

If you can't contribute financially, please consider sharing this page with someone you know, blogging about us, and sharing this information across your social networks.

To make things a little more fun, Mike Neumann has made a date with a hair clipper and some Hooters girls if we can meet and exceed our goal by midnight tonight. (Read below)

Finally, don't forget you can always correspond with a service member on a one-on-one basis or send a one time message of support through eMail Our Military!

America Goes Bald for eMOM & Operation Soldier Care

It started with Rob La Gesse (@Kr8tr on twitter) then Todd Jordan (@Tojosan) stepped up to the plate. Now, Mike Neumann (@MikeNeumann) is joining in to help us surpass our goal for Operation Soldier Care so we can get skin/sun care packages to our troops.

Trust me, this is something you won't want to miss.

We've raised $2746 and are at the 54% mark. We only need $2254 to meet our goal. That's just 46% more. We're more than half way there. The hard part is over and I know we can do it with your help.

Half Way There, Half Way to Go for Operation Soldier Care

We're a little more than half way to our goal for Operation Soldier Care. We've raised $2,746.00 and hit the 54% mark in our campaign to get Mary Kay sun/skin care packages to our active duty troops in the desert.

We're extremely pleased with how far we've come for this project and how many military service members will benefit from the care packages we'll be sending to them.

We're not done yet though! Monday the 18th (Tomorrow) is the final day to hit the 5k mark. That doesn't leave us much time to get it all done.

If you can help, please do. Every $1 counts toward the purchase of a care package and no amount is too big or too small.

If you can't contribute financially, please consider sharing this page with someone you know, blogging about us, cheering us on in the comment section and sharing this information across your social networks.

Finally, don't forget you can always correspond with a service member on a one-on-one basis or send a one time message of support through eMail Our Military!
