Get Scrappin' for our Troops

Summer is one of the best times to get together with your friends and get crafty. If you love scrapbooking and/or making cards then here are a few ideas on how you can have some fun this summer and support the troops.

Have a create-a-card event! Pick a date, spread the word and make an evening out of it. Pick a theme (4th of July, Summer, Americana), set a goal, invite some of your friends over (maybe give people the option to bring a covered dish) and then have some fun snacking, chatting and creating great cards for our troops.

Stay-at-home moms and dads: Try an event like this during the day with your fellow stay at homers and the kids! Kids love expressing themselves and can get pretty creative with some crayons, markers and stamps. (No glitter please)

Go Red, White and Blue!

Try creating cards using just red, white and blue elements. Stars and stripes are fun too. We've some great looking cards using red, white and blue, foam cutouts and with a little imagination you could create a masterpiece that will be shared with our service members.

Have Fun

The most important part of any project is to have fun. Set a reachable goal. Perhaps each person in your group could make 2 cards or 5. Whatever you decide is fine. Each cards is a treasure and no amount is too big or too small.

Grab a camera and snap some photos of you and your friends while you get scrappin' for our troops. You can send the photos to us to be shared in our projects set and you can also use the photos from your event to create cards and mini-scrapbooks to share with the service members you support.

Summertime or Anytime

This doesn't have to be a summertime project and you don't have to wait for a patriotic holiday to roll around to send us your cards for the troops. At eMail Our Military we accept cards for heroes year-round. Your cards will ship in care packages to our military service members and may also be scanned, saved and shared by email to be enjoyed over and over again.

Make it a Date

Why not make it a date and meet with your group once a month? It's a great excuse to let loose and have some fun all while doing something charitable for our troops. It's also a great way to make new friends!

Get Local

Think outside the box. Try getting your local scrapbooking and craft stores involved. They may allow you to put up flyers promoting your event, donate supplies and they might even like to host it in store. Some scrapbooking stores may even create a special event just for your project! You don't know until you try.

Where to Send

You can send your cards to us at:

eMail Our Military
8004 NW 154 Street, Suite 344
Miami Lakes, FL. 33016

We look forward to seeing your cards and sharing them with our troops.
